Signed by Roberts on a tipped in leaf (tipped in by the publisher). National Library of Jamaica, "Walter Adolphe Roberts (1886 - 1962)". A historical fiction novel set in New Orleans during the U.S. Civil War. Written by the son of an English clergyman, Roberts was raised in Jamaica and then immigrated to the United States to pursue journalism. Very Good or better with three private ownership stamps (one on each pastedown, one on the title page); jacket with a few hints of edge wear and a touch of foxing to its rear fold.
