One of 200 copies, signed and numbered by the author. 12mo. Green cloth. 48pp. Spotted to the head edge, the fore and tail edges stained, but the pages themselves are unaffected. Poet William Wantling (1933-1974) was a veteran of the Korean War who spent 5 years in San Quentin Prison, where he first taught himself to write. He was a contemporary and a friend of Charles Bukowski, a heroin addict, and a prominent figure in the US poetry scene of the 1960s and 70s. Wantling died of heart failure when he was just 40 years old. (Information from Tangerine Press). Number 23 in an edition limited to 200 copies.
