3¾ x 6½" pp. 167, with 6 engravings from the designs of Richard Westall. Very good in prize full leather binding of the Royal Naval College. Emblem of the College (in Portsmouth at this time) gilt stamped on front and rear boards. 5 raised band to spine. Gilt faded on front board and spine. Marbled endpapers and edges. Firmly bound with mostly clear bright text although some foxing to the engravings. No dustwrapper. Inscribed as a Prize in Mathematics awarded to John Moore in 1834. Signed by Sir Thomas Williams GCB, Admiral and Commander in Chief Portsmouth 1833-36; Rear Admiral Frederick Lewis Maitland KCB (whose main claim to fame was that Napoleon surrendered to him aboard HMS Bellerophon in 1815); and James Inman DD, Professor of Nautical Astronomy.
