First Edition. Folio. Unbound. Sheet music, 10 1/4" wide by 13 1/4" high with striking blackface picture. "Let It Alone". Words by Alex Rogers, Music by Bert A. Williams. New York: The Gotham-Attucks Music Company, 1906. Piano music, plus melody line. Cover plus 3 pages, additional page of extra verses, and back page of advertising. The words, written in pseudo-black dialect, advise you NOT to be a good samaritan, and list the various strange situations you might come across and what NOT to do when you see them. The back page has additional advertising for "Nobody" by Bert Williams, and "When the Moon Shines". Williams was a breakthrough African-American musician and comedian who played major vaudeville stages. The cover has a large chip at front and some edgewear, but is in overall good condition.
