The goals given to the authors of the various papers of this Cahier de la ceramique egyptienne were to identify and characterize these amphorae, to measure the extent of their diffusion both withing and outside the borders of Egypt and to provide a panorama of Mediterranean imports into Egypt. The first part entitled "Egypt's Amphorae" contains studies compiled per site and region of Egypt. The second part, "Dissemination of Egyptian amphorae," draws together studies on Egyptian amphorae consumption centers outside Egypt. "Around Amphorae," the third part includes papers referring to the Egyptian amphora and its representation in the coroplathy, its content, its use in architecture or funeral service. More than just a collection of works on amphorae found in Egypt, this Cahier de la ceramique egyptienne is also a work and reference tool for the historian and the archaeologist who will find a reasoned bibliography annexed thereto.
