Even though autism is quite prevalent today, not everyone knows what it is. Nowadays people diagnosed with autism or parents who have a child with autism are starting to share their stories in easy-to-understand language for the purpose of helping others learn from what they have experienced. So what are the basics you need to know, and how do you apply that information? While this book may not cover every situation you might encounter, it will give you a glimpse into our story and how we deal with it every day. I wrote from a mom's point of view, so you will find examples, ideas, and a touch of much-needed humor throughout wrapped in everyday language. I admit, I don't know every technical definition, and we have not experienced every therapy available, but I believe our experiences can still provide insight and hope.
