(86) b/w PHOTOS, mounted on (48) pp. (86) PHOTOS show: young Soviet soldiers in Hungary enjoying themselves, during 1975 peacetime when Hungary was afforded greater freedoms compared with other regions in Soviet bloc. Album has a '70s 'go-go' vibe- young Soviet soldiers & girls hanging out/ soldiers at ease, playing musical instruments/ couples kiss, soldiers & girls together/ men in cars/ soldiers & flowers/ handwritten serial numbers & home addresses/ colorized postcards of Budapest's soccer stadium, civic bldgs., city streets, bridges. Brightly colored pictures pasted onto black pages in album pop out-- flowers/ racing cars/ hand-drawn pictures/ inked designs.
