Howitzer by Ladysmith, showing soldiers grouped around a Howitzer gun during the battle and siege of Ladysmith, November 1899-February, 1900; Brandwacht der Boeren by Ladysmith, Boer Piket ('brandwacht' is a picket or outpost), showing soldiers on a hillside with arms ready; Comm Steenkamp met zyn commando Kaap Kolonische Boeren onder Genl Colbe O.U.S.oorlog 1900 (Commd Steenkamp with his command of Cape Colonial Boers under Genl Colbe O.V.S. Oorlog,1900), showing a large company of soldiers, many in posed positions with firearms, at Oorlog during the war. Commandant Lucas Steenekamp and General Colbe were prominent officers in the war. These rare photos are somewhat faded but the images easily discernable. Jan van Hoepen was the noted Dutch photographer of the Boer War. Seller Inventory # 019242
