First published in Mexico 1644, this is one of the often reprinted works of Juan Palafox y Mendoza (1600 - 1659), bishop of Pueblo de los Angeles in Mexico, where he sought to protect the native (Red) Indians from Spanish cruelty, which brought him into conflict with the Jesuits. - Foxed.[(5385)].
