About this Item
This vintage program from Carnegie Hall in New York City has a special cover design. It reproduces an Old Carnegie Hall Program Cover (marked at the bottom as No. 2 in a series). The cover art, which has a very Art Nouveau feeling to it, was drawn by Higby in 1911 as indicated in the lower right-hand corner of the art work, and was published by Alfred Scott, New York. This program has a somewhat lengthy article by Mort L. Nasatir that includes various anecdotes associated with the Hall over the years. While this program has information on the concert programs of the Philharmonic, under the direction of Leonard Bernstein, for the period May 5-8, 1960, there is also a separate eight page insert that provides additional details on the pieces scheduled to be performed. The Carnegie Hall Program with vintage ads throughout measures 7.5" x 9.75" with 24 pages; the 8-page insert is just slight smaller in size. Other than some browning due to age, this piece is in excellent condition. Seller Inventory # E5203
