Original letter with United States Senate Washington D.C. letterhead dated April 11, 1968 stating "Dear Mr. Roper, I am pleased to know of your support for my candidacy. I appreciate very much this interest as well as your encouragement and special assistance. With best wishes. Sincerely yours, Eugene McCarthy". Letter is typed and signed in black ppen by McCarthy. Ropers address is typed below. Size is 8 1/4" x 6 1/4" Paper has a "linen" watermark. Like new condition. Also included is the envelope it was sent in with US Senate Room 411 return address. McCarthy was a Minnesota senator and '68 presidential 'Peace' candidate. Seller Inventory # 024665
