Southern France, Montpelier, C13th In a small script with some lines in red, initials in red and blue with additional flourishes of blue and red lines. These two fragments are on plants, and on the medical effects of eating them. The plants named here include alchanna, semperviva, zeduar, and others, many of which are poisonous; the text discusses antidotes. However, it also includes healthy foods such as olive oil and how it is made and used in cooking. Chapters often open with wording from the Canon Medicinae of Avicenna, book No. II, but the text is more detailed. It is possibly unpublished. The manuscript is presumably French, thirteenth century, and it could well be from southern France, such as the medical schools of Montpellier. Seller Inventory # ABE-1685359305182
