About this Item
An expansive 1930s letter writer with examples appropriate for a myriad of situations, including: "To Collect a Debt"; "To Write a Letter to a Servant"; "Invitation to a Christening"; "Asking a Lover to Wait"; and even "Breaking an Engagement" (which begins quite bluntly: "Our engagement has been a terrible mistake."). Also includes general guidance for grammar, diction, etc. The writer was intended "For Distribution Through the Newspapers Presented by Frederic J. Haskin"; this particular copy has an ink stamp noting that it was "Circulated by The Harrisburg Patriot". 8vo (9" by 6"), 48 pp., unbound as issued. Designed to teach the fundamentals of correct letter writing in any situation. Contents includes General Rules to Observe, Business letters, Social Letters, Lover Letters and Correct Form of Addressing Important Personages. Very good; some dust soiling, one short tear to right-hand margin of upper wrapper, touching text. Seller Inventory # 21000883
