2 sides, notepaper, 18.5 x 12 cm. Hand-written signed letter headed 14 Eaton Place, March 29, (1896?). Written in the third person, as was the custom of the day. "Sir George Grey presents his compliments to Captain Ross & begs to thank him for his obliging offer to take any parcel to his son but he will not now trouble him to do it, as he has had an opportunity of sending out recently some small parcels containing all that he wished to forward at present." Grey (1812-1898) was twice Governor of NZ, and Prime Minister from 1877 to 1879. Grey returned to England in 1894, dying there in 1898. Seller Inventory # 017760
