An autograph letter signed by George William Curtis, dated 4 June 1874, along with an autograph quotation signed by Curtis, dated 17 March 1887, and an engraved black and white portrait of Curtis. The notes are written on 4 ¼ x 7" and 7 x 8 ½" paper. The portrait is engraved on 5 ½ x 8 paper by Geo. E. Perine of New York. Age toning with slight staining to all items. The vertical crease on the 7 x 8 ½" signed quotation has worn through, such that the sheet is now in two pieces. Shelved Case 7. CX Consignment. George William Curtis was an American writer and public speaker, born in Providence, Rhode Island, of New Englander ancestry.
