Pen and watercolour by the New Zealand artist and cartoonist A S Paterson (1902-1968). Signed 'Yours sincerely, A S Paterson, 13.12.38'. The drawing shows a man's boot being thrown at 3 cats who are fleeing. The cats, tabby (Gardiner), ginger and black (Mrs Mahogany) were among his regular cast of characters. Paterson was a cartoonist notably for The Dominion and the Labour Party's Southern Cross. He was also a notable book illustrator. 9 x 12 cm. Seller Inventory # 019658
