viii, 155pp, [5]. With five engraved plates. Contemporary speckled calf. A trifle rubbed. Internally clean and crisp. English poet Christopher Anstey's (1724-1805) popular satirical work, composed at Trumpington and first printed in 1766 at Cambridge. Horace Walpole praised the epistles, attributed to the fictional Blunderhead family, remarking that they described Bath with 'so much wit, so much humour, fun, and poetry, so much originality, [as] never met together before'.
