"These three items featuring two full-panel color maps from the San Francisco Examiner, one dated April 14th, 1940 and one from January 12th, 1941 - - are both interior newspaper maps with the 1940 maps featuring "Low Countries Menaced by Attack" and showing the European War Theater at the moment - - with accompanying description. The map is on the front of a four-panel part of the paper with the others three panels showing Columns by Walter Winchell and Damon Runyon, and one full-page showing the Panama Canal with large picture, map, and description of the need to defend the canal - - all overall in very good condition with a touch of age-toning and with the pieces folded two times into quarters and with a few tears at the folds. 2) - - the second piece - - from January 1941 - - is titled "American Extends Atlantic Patrol - Panama Canal and Caribbean Sea becomes center of a vast network of Western Hemisphere Defenses" - - and with the full-page color map showing places, routes, and graphics for the America's, the Atlantic Ocean, and then Europe and Africa. This piece includes 8 full additional pages of this Examiner insert with inside articles titled "Our Choice - New World Peace or Old World Wars." Also two society pages and concluding socials and columns with picture and graphics. This item has also been folded twice into quarters with a touch of age-toning and a few smallish tears but all very good. 3) - - the third item is a single piece measuring 34.0 x 22.0 inch color map with the map and accompanying photograph and information on one side and the reverse is blank. This map is titled "Richfield Reporter War Map" with a date of 1939. The large colored map shows Europe with war developments, defense lines, distances between points of interest, and more - - with a side-column of information given - - all part of the Richfield Reporter compiled through the facilities of the United Press and with nightly reports on NBC stations advertised. This item is folded into eight panels and shows large tears at the folds but the piece is complete and still solidly in one piece.". Seller Inventory # 1505-1274
