Original colour printed map of Shanghai with a photographic image of the Bund at the bottom. 77cm x 53.5cm, with one horizontal and three vertical folds. Blank verso. A detailed street map of Shanghai, bilingual text in English and Chinese and some text in the key at the bottom in Japanese. There are inset maps of Nanking and Eastern China. An attractive map which was published in Showa 7, 1932, by the famous Asahi Shimbun newspaper in Osaka as a supplement illustrating features on the Shanghai Incident (also known as the January 28th Incident) when the Japanese forces bombed Shanghai earlier in 1932. The map has some general wear and small splits at the cross-folds, some minor wear and border tears at the edges and numerous tiny wormholes throughout. Grades Good condition only.
