Contents clean and tight with no inscriptions, small sticker to the front paste down for" Peiyang Press Tientsin - Peking". Publishers plain 1/2 black leather over green cloth covered boards. The binding clean and tight with no marks chips or splits. Printed at the American Presbyterian Mission Press. With four appendixes, including The Illegitimate States; The Illegitimate Dynasties; The six great chancellors of Ts'in; and Studies in Giles' Chinese Biographical Dictionary.
