First Edition (first printing). 8vo. xxv, 203pp. Russet-coloured cloth lettered in gold at the spine. Tip of one corner gently knocked and with a slight curvature to the boards. The edges quite lightly spotted and with a little speckling to the top edge dye. Some further spotting to the free endpapers and to a number of preliminary leaves. A nice bright copy in good non-price-clipped dust wrapper, tanned at the spine panel, a little marked and dust soiled, and with a little light edgewear and several small areas of loss from several extremities. Other contributors include Peter Fleming, Edmund Blunden, Derek Hudson, Richard Goodman (on D.H.Lawrence), Inklings founder [Edward] Tangye Lean, Adrian Bell, James Laver, Kate O Brien, Philip Tomlinson, Naomi Mitchison &c.
