Folding aquatint frontis to volume two showing the entrance to Cape Town and 8 folding maps 2 have full wash colour, some off setting from the text to the maps. Armorial bookplate of George Jacob Bosanquet with his signature to the front paste downs. Contemporary full tan calf bindings with black title label to the spine the label to volume 1 chipped with loss. Some surface rubbing the bindings tight with no chips or splits. Mendelssohn 1, 87-88 - "He gives an excellent description of the country traversed particularly in regard to the botany and zoology of these regions. Significant evidence is afforded with regard to the alleged brutality of the Boers to their slaves and their Hottentot servants.
