About this Item
Stapled, tan pamphlet with black titles and image of a masked Klan woman. This copy has very light wear and aging. It is VG+, almost NF. This pamphlet is full of the happy and ingenuous palaver that fills much early Klan literature and masks the deeperphilosophy of hate and violence that pervaded the organization. The KKK dexided to allow a women's organization in 1923 and Robbie Gill, whose texturally printed signature appears as the Imperial Commander of the WKKK and a subscriber to this pamphlet. Gill later married Arkansas Grand Dragon, James Comer. She and Comer were eventually disgraced for involvment on scheemes to sell Klan merchandise for profit. Anyway, this small booklet outlines the goals for the women's organization and shows how the rising women's suffrage movement actually affected fringe groups like the Klan. This is a very attractive copy of an important bit of Klan history. ; 32mo 4" - 5" tall; 16 pages. Seller Inventory # 17039
