# AS PICTURED # FIRST EDITION. 8vo; Brilliant acidic lemon boards stamped dark green with striking decoration to front, titles to spine - still exceptionally square, bright and clean. Top edge yellow, with very minor spotting; front and bottom edges predominantly clean and straight. Coloured frontis, 256pp, including 6 full-page b/w illustrations. Predominantly tight, bright, clean and square, with no markings or inscriptions. Mercifully free from foxing. Four pages near the centre have some light dusty staining, there is a very small hole in front pastedown gutter, a small closed tear at foot of half-title page. Overall, an exceptionally tidy copy. Dustwrapper unclipped (4/- net), beautifully illustrated, still bright and clean, some minor rubbing to rear blue and white Books for Boys panel. Minor losses to front and rear bottom edges, actually hardly noticeable, due to colour of the boards. The dustwrapper for this book was printed such that, when folded, either some of the front title had to be folded towards the front foldover - giving even foldovers and complete spine , but losing some front letters, or, as in this copy, keeping the whole front picture, but with a narrow front foldover, which appears to have been printed to accomodate this, but with some spine details wrapped towards the back.
