green cloth, as required, and 1.4" thick at the spine, the true 1st edition of 1942 (a superior production that was issued at 7/6d - and never reprinted in this form! What is often claimed as the "2nd reprint" is actually the first cheap edition, half the thickness with cheaper paper and red cloth issued at 2/6d), nice clean green cloth, bright gilt, inscribed, foxed on text block and preliminary pages, lightly on some page margins, otherwise a VG+ good tight copy.
