Condition & Notes: Profusely illustrated (color), this is the diary of Lt. JW Abert "who mapped New Mexico for the United States Army." Fold-out maps included. Ivory cloth hardcover in about fine condition; topographical engineers insignia on front board; crisp gilt text on spine; sharp and clean with square and tight binding; interior is tidy; illustrations and text are unmarked and sharp. Maps appear never to have been unfolded. Acetate jacket is about very good. Gift-worthy for the collector of Western Americana. Seller Inventory # 14019
