About this Item
1st printing. DeVoto was the author of a series of Pulitzer-Prize-winning popular histories of the American West and for many years wrote "The Easy Chair", an influential column in Harper's Magazine. Near fine copy of this papberback with a brilliant Hoffman cover. Beginning in 1943, Hoffman designed (sometimes along with Sol Immerman) all but 11 of the first 125 paperback covers for Popular Library. Hoffman repeated the cover illustration as a smaller line drawing on the title page. All Vintage Paperbacks come sealed in 2.5 mil plastic bag and taped closed with removable tape which will not tear the covers if it sticks to them when the book is removed. Seller Inventory # 019580
