A poem on the discoveries of Columbus by Joel Barlow (1754-1812), an American Jeffersonian poet, diplomat, and politician. A supporter of the French Revolution, he nevertheless included a dedication to King Louis XVI in the American edition, which this British edition omits. Owned and inscribed by Thomas C. Jones, which is believed to be Thomas Charles Jones (1766-1835), an American doctor who would later become the president of the College of Physicians in Philadelphia. COLL1787GKLQ.
