Virgin Soil Upturned Book Two, Mikhail Sholokhov, 1960, Foreign Languages Publishing House Moscow 1960 Foreign Languages Publishing House. A very good / near fine copy of the second volume translated and published in Moscow by The Foreign Languages Publishing House at the time of the first russian edition. The author worked on Volume Two over a period of thirty two years and it was not completed until 1959. The first manuscript of Volume Two was burned in a fire when his house was bombed during the war but Sholokhov persevered and rewrote it. The boards are fine with minimal wear and clean and bright illustration on the front board. The endpapers and pages are clean with no tears or inscriptions. Some toning to the top edge in line with age. The unclipped dust jacket is remarkably clean and bright with some minor loss at the base of spine and some shelf wear rubbing and nibbles presenting well on the shelf in a removable protective plastic cover (removed for the purpose of images). A rare, interesting and lovely book. Will be despatched wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box. Seller Inventory # 00213
