First edition of this delightful book is a tale of an Airedale named Nicholas Murray Butler; together with the story of a Irish Setter named Verdun Belle, and of course Egon Ficklin, a celebrated German police dog with alarming personal habits. All illustrated by Edwina Dunn (1893-1990) best remembered for her Cap Stubbs & Tippie cartoon strip which ran for nearly five decades. All ilustrations are present.Never a library book.This was later released under the title Verdun Belle and Some Others. The book is in fair condition; the binding is tight and square. It features yellow boards with black lettering, there is some light soiling and fading on the cover and the corners show some bumping. Seller Inventory # 72005
