Stated First Edition. This is a very unique offering. I was unable to find one other non-library first edition of this book for sale anywhere on the Internet. The author, Maia Wojciechowska, had won a Newbery Award in 1965 for her children's book Shadow Of A Bull. As you can see from the photos, the covers are very clean. They have very little wear, a tiny crease under the front top corner, a slight creasing at the spine ends, a tiny spot of rubbing at the rear corners, no rub-through. The spine is very slightly slanted forward. The book is very solidly bound from cover to cover. The pages are nicely tight. So are the covers. No binding issues. The rear side of the second blank rear end paper has some light spotting. I don't see that anywhere else. Most of the pages are very clean. However, I saw a few spots on some early pages so I decided to turn over every page. I counted 23 pages with a small spot or two on them. The great majority involved a speck or a small spot or fingerprint off an edge. Almost all of them were away from the print. The condition of the pages is very good. I saw only one turned- down corner crease. There are no markings in the book. No attachments of any kind, no bookplates, NOT ex-library. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. You can see the dust jacket in the first three photos. It's pretty clean, a little handling soiling or darkening. There are a few spots on the white part of the rear flap. There are small losses at the corners, also a chip at the bottom edge of the spine, not reaching the lettering. There is a small tear off the top edge of the front, a small tear off the bottom edge of the rear. The bottom corner of the front flap is clipped. However the price is at the top corner. I've had the dust jacket in a fitted protective cover for as long as I've owned the book. Note that the front cover and spine of the jacket and book are identical. Seller Inventory # 002444
