A Very Good Plus first printing with the alternate jacket, which states "Winner of the 1962 Nobel Prize for Literature." The book block is entirely clean; the case shows some minor staining and darkening of the spine. The jacket is unclipped ($4.95) and darkened along the spine, otherwise Near Fine. 246 pages. 6" x 8.75". Travels with Charley (1962) is a travelog of John Steinbeck s cross-country road trip with his poodle, Charley. Steinbeck describes the unrest of his wanderlust as a motivator for packing a camper named Rosinante and exploring mid-century America.
