Octavo. 191 pages. illustrated and maps, with a Foreword by the Right Honorable Malcolm Macdonald Commissioner-General for the United Kingdom in Southeast Asia His appointment as a government official included hunting and killing tigers who were man-eaters or destroying domestic animals. He became obsessed with their characteristics such as size, habits, diet, their methods of killing, their territory, their cubs and the superstitions of the people who feared them. Pasted to the rear endpaper is a review of the book in the New York Times, April 22, 1954. A very nice copy bound in yellow cloth, spine lettered and decorated in yellow, green and black, previous owner's stamped name to front pastedown, in a very nice unclipped pictorial dust jacket. showing light wear to spine ends, a closed edge tear to rear panel, a bit of rubbing to lower joint.
