About this Item
Octavo. 525 pages, 12 maps, plans, diagrams, and index. K.A. Kitchen, has solved many of the seemingly unsurmountable obstacles on this era. He subjects the conflicting chronological data for this period to a systematic and penetrating scrutiny. Piecing together with meticulous care and relentless logic the information gleaned from Manetho's lists dates Egyptian monuments, and numerous royal and private genealogies. He establishes the likely number and order of kings in each dynasty, delineates the frequent co-regencies of individual pharaohs and ruling families, and eventually arrives at a chronological system solid enough to provide the backbone for a continuous history of the entire period. A near fine copy Bound in blue cloth, spine lettering gilt, with only one tiny bumped corner, in a very good pictorial dust jacket with edge wear and a few small chips to spine ends and corners.
