This VG+ quality possible first edition book was copyrighted in 1960 and published by Grosset and Dunlap; it is 7-5/8" tall with 167 numbered pages of text. This book--light brown textured composition binding with dark brown lettering (this is clearly format #4, as per Mattson & Davis), is square, very clean, free of edge dings with the top front corner lightly bumped; the head of the spine also is sightly bumped. The bottom edges have very light wear. The spine is clean and the lettering is intact; The front panel illustration, in dark brown, is clean and undamaged. There is a small stain on the fore edge, but it does not penetrate more that 1/16". The interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and page damage of any type. The hinges are strong and not damaged. The text paper is very modestly and uniformly toned and is quite flexible and not at all brittle. There are no illustrations, not even a frontis. The book has no remainder mark and is not a former library book. The list at the front of the book lists through this title in this series. The VG- quality jacket has a price sticker on the front panel, tiny chips at the front corners, a 1" tear at the top front gutter, and a scruff mark from a sticker on the front panel.
