Burnet fell out of favor and lost his position at King William's Court for publishing in 1692, ARCHELOGIAE PHILOSOPHICAE, in which he treated the mosiac account of the fall of man as an allegory - causing a great clamor against him. De Statu Mortuorum, which was first published posthumously in 1723, maintains the doctrine of a Middle State, the Millenium, and of the limited duration of future punishment. These two works were first combined in the 1726 edition. Good. Seller Inventory # 40392
