First Edition (NAP, and there is an errata slip attached in front of the first page of chapter 1 in both volumes). For sale are only Volumes II and III of a Three Volume Set. You can see the covers (Half-binding) in the photographs provided. They've held up extremely well with only relatively minor wear, mainly some scuffing on the edges and a little bit of rub-through at the corners. There's also a few places where the surface leather has been scraped off, particularly at the rear top corners of Volume II. the gilt lettering and design on the spines is still very bright. Both volumes are very solidly bound. There aren't any cracks or spaces to be found anywhere in either volume. Not between the covers and end papers and not between any of the pages within the book. Both the covers and the pages are tightly bound, just as you would wish them to be. The the pages are, in the main, very clean. You'll find only very occasional spots of soiling in both volumes. There is some spotting on the blank inside covers and blank end papers. Also a little bit on the first couple of pages and the last page. However, that's it. There isn't any spotting or foxing to be found in the text of either volume. The pages are in very nice condition. I didn't see any creasing or dogeared corners. No one has written their name or anything else anywhere in either volume. There aren't any markings. There aren't any bookplates. The volumes are NOT ex-library. The only attachment is a 1 1/4" by 1/4" bookseller label (W. Heffer & Sons, Cambridge, England) which is affixed at the bottom of the front inside cover of each volume. I've priced these volumes quite conservatively, taking into account their very good condition, due to the fact that it is not a complete set. Seller Inventory # 001628
