Although I don't believe the name "Anansi" appears here, this 1924 collection would appear to be a wonderful early set of folk-tales about him. Described on the title page as "Collected from the Students at Albert Academy," which locates the publication in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Also a Note suggests "The following stories have been left in the boys' own words." 39 stories, each attributed to one of the pupils at the academy. A very scarce book or booklet, with only 3 copies reported on OCLC, I suspect this was distributed in this country as part of an effort at raising missionary funds. Still a very useful--and tough to find--book for collections of African folklore. Some surface staining to wrappers; damage and loss to the upper outer corner of most pages, but never touching the text. Good minus, perhaps, overall. Seller Inventory # 000923
