Apparent First Edition (NAP). Once listed, this will be the Only copy from the year 1858. Moreover, it will be the earliest copy of a Proceedings of the Board Of Supervisors in any county in New York that is for sale on the Internet. The condition of the book is quite good once you get past the first three pages. As you can see in the photos, the first three pages have a fairly large loss over their top third. While it obviously diminishes the attractiveness of the book it doesn't remove too much of consequence. The verso side of the first two pages is blank and these first two pages appear to be identical in every way so I think that the only thing missing from both of them may be the words Special and Proceedings. That's likely the case for the front of the third page as well which lists the names of the towns and their supervisors. However, on the verso of this third page the removal of the top third of the page has removed at least a few of the names of the towns and their supervisors (though I would assume that you'll find them in the body of the text). Present on the front of the third page are the towns in alphabetical order beginning with Bedford all the way through to Rye, and on the verso you can see White Plains, Yonkers, and Yorktown below the loss, so the missing names are the towns after Rye and before White Plains. That would be all that is missing. The following page and all the pages afterward are present and actually in very good shape. I don't see any losses or tears. There are 167 numbered pages and there is a foldout after the last page (with four folds) which is the Official Canvass (spelled with two s's) Of Votes Taken At A General Election, Held In The County Of Westchester, On Tuesday, November 3, 1857. This foldout is in very good condition, with only a very light couple of small, blending stains just off the top edge, far from the print. There are no tears. It does make clear which towns were removed on the verso of the third page. They are Scarsdale, Somers, Westchester, and West Farms. West Farms is, I believe, now in the Bronx, New York. I didn't know there was ever a town called Westchester. Getting back to the condition: the pages are exceptionally clean. Scrolling through I'm not finding any conspicuous soiling. I'm also not seeing any conspicuous creasing. There is some minor crinkling. You will be able to see the covers in the photos. There is a small loss at the top edge of the spine, a very small one at the bottom edge of the spine with a small tear beside it. The paper on the spine has creasing. Importantly, the book is very solidly bound with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well, despite the loss. The solidity of the binding is consistent from the first to the last page. Seller Inventory # 004646
