About this Item
This lithographed colour print was published on November 16th 1872. The image is not signed, but probably Ape" Pseud of Carlo Pellagrini. Titled "Mr Speaker". Lovely clean copy with good marghins, never been framed with the original page of letterpress by Jehu Jnr of the man. Very good and ALL genuine. * MP for Lewes in 1852. More Whig than Radical, he soon made Lord of the Treasury and made party whip in 1859. He resigned this position in 1866 and became less partisan and so became a natural to succeed to the position he held as Speaker of the House as his impartiality and long Baronial lineage made his impartiality a safe solution for both sides of the house.
