INSCRIBED by the author on the title page: "To -- / (my hand is shaking) / Best wishes / Alice Friman." In addition, she has written on the cover: "Me / A.R.F." with an arrow pointing to the little girl in the photo. A collection of poems by Alice Friman (b. 1933), a New York-born writer who has taught English and creative writing at a number of universities in the U.S. and Australia.
