Good solid 1887 1st printing hardcover in brown paper covered boards with bright gilt spine title. Boards show light watermarks, hinge papers fine, 348pp text crisp and tight. Former copy of Sidney Childs of Camden, ME with his pencil signature on blank fep. The Childs family was instrumental in recording and championing the Morgan Horse breed in Maine.
