Cox, brothers, bound by Wesleys & Clark A contemporary inscription of former owner Mary Isabell Sally Lowndes., May 1847 . The covers are a little worn and rubbed, corners bumped, top and bottom of spine edges a little frayed, as to be expected. Inside the frontis tissue is foxed affecting the title page and frontis, otherwise the text is clean. A very acceptable two volume set. Marryat, as a British naval captain, visited Canada and the United States in 1837-38. In the present work of juvenile fiction, "he showed that a family that had emigrated and settled near Kingston, Upper Canada, was delighted when the opportunity came to return to England to claim an inheritance.
