With coloured aquatint frontispiece and 60 coloured aquatint plates. I am not sure if this is the 1st or 2nd issue with the redrawn plates. The plates that were redrawn seem of the same quality as the others. All have good colour. Large book 42 x 33 cms / 16 5/8 x 13 ins. Green leather with ornate gilt decoration to spine and boards. The spine has been rebacked with the original laid down on top. Boards scuffed, edges rubbed .Inside, cloth reinforcement to hinges. Bookplate of Baron Stuart Rendel of Hatchlands on the inside cover with 'ghost' image reflected on facing page. Some foxing spots and marks/soiling to the margins. Baron Rendel was a Liberal politician who promoted Welsh causes and supported Aberystwyth Uiversity. Hatchlands is an estate near Guildford in Surrey. Heavy book - 5.4kgs .
