Octavo. (4) 39 (1)pp. Original tan illustrated wraps with red and black lettering on cover, with red triple ruling, protected in modern mylar. Illustrated title page. Guide by the High Command of the armed forces, division for the interior (Tornisterschrift des Oberkommandos der Wehrmacht. Abt. inland). A printed line on the cover suggests "Don't collect, pass on!" Published for the use in the armed forces only. Primer on the Middle East, including chapters on Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Syria, Transjordan, Palestine, Arabia, Egypt and Libya. The chapter on Turkey includes information on its geography, including major mountains, rivers and lakes, size and population of cities, constitution, armed forces and economy, export, traffic, press, historic overview with list of rulers and presidents. The other countries contain most of the same information but not as extensively as Turkey. Text German. Some wear along edges, small chips and light creasing.
