Condition: Fair. 1887. No Edition Remarks. 368 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth with gilt lettering. Contains black and white illustrations. Moderate tanning, with light foxing and marking to pages. Noticeable tanning to rough-cut text block edges. Cracking to hinges, with exposed netting. Some rub-marking and tanning to pastedowns and rear endpaper with inscriptions to front. Front endpaper is missing. Boards have moderate shelf wear, with rubbing and marking. Light bumping to corners and heavy crushing to spine ends. Book has noticeable forward lean. Book condition: fair.Corners a little bumped. Spine a little frayed at head and tail, also cloth a little faded/discoloured. Front board almost completely separated at hinge though still totally intact at spine cver. Front free endpaper now just loosely inserted. Rear end papers missing and final two pages of book (index) are coming losse. Occasional slight corner creasing to pages. Clean and unmarked internally. All edge gilt still bright and clean. Illustrated by Joseph Pennell. 368 pages, 9" x 6 ¾", turquoise cloth covers with gilt and black stamping. The covers are slightly soiled and rubbed with frayed spine ends and cover corners. Previous owner bookplate on the front paste down, the hinges are starting, the first few pages are loosening but present. The contents are bright, clean and complete. Included is a nice typed letter from Scribner's to the previous owner. Good+. Seller Inventory # 69658
