The binding features boards covered on the front with a design in black & inlaid maroon morocco leathers, with a raised onlay of an ink pen, covered in red leather, gilt & with a gold-painted steel pen nib; this pen "sculpture" is mounted over a swirled checkerboard ribbon design, which also continues to the back cover; the spine features three, open windows which expose the red cords that the leaves have been sewn on. Gold-washed, deep rose & gray marbled paper paste-downs & extra, high-quality paper flyleaves. All edges stained black & polished. The sturdy, handcrafted box features a black leather spine with an applied red leather label at the base, with gilt title; with matching gold-washed marbled paper sides with black leather edge; all edges of box are also in black leather. The inside of box is lined with brushed, rose-colored suede padding. Book and box are in fine condition. Produced by Jarmilla Sobota in the 1990 s.
