About this Item
Subtitle: "A detailed description of the great rubber industry of the amazon valley, which comprises the Brazilian States of Para, Amazonas and Matto Grosso, the territory of the acre, the montana of Peru and Bolivia, and the souther portions of Colombia and Venezuela." Published in 1911 by the India Rubber World, NY. Hard cover, no dust jacket. See photos for condition. Leather on hardcover board corners receding, most acutely on the front board's bottom corner. Ink on non-leather parts of boards fading a bit at edges. Leather sections of boards darkening and cracking in places, lightening in others (especially around spine). Leather on top section of spine missing, exposing cardboard, and sections of leather missing or cracked on other areas of the spine (see photos). ~1 inch crack in the top of text block and front board (hinge forming), otherwise securely sealed together. Pencil on first and last blank sheets. Toning and some foxing on blank endsheets. A few pages have minor edge damage - most notably on one of the maps in the back where there is a small rip in the edge and some dark smudging (see photos). Some pages throughout have a small amount of dark smudging in the corners. A few page edges have what look like small dried moisture stains. Binding is loose with age - splitting in the gutters in places throughout, but overall, binding holding together perfectly well - no missing or loose pages or chunks. Pages appear clean and clear of writing, markings, highlighting. Contains advertisements in back. Seller Inventory # ABE-1724945176063
