About this Item
(no dust jacket) [solid book, minor deterioration to cloth along to and bottom edges, minor light staining to front cover, old seller's price rubber-stamped at top of title page]. (B&W frontispiece, 4 B&W plates) Juvenile novel, about the title character's junior year in high school, with all its attendant hijinks. Hornibrook (not a pseudonym, as far as I can determine) was a not-especially-prolific author of juvenile girls' fiction in the 1910s and 1920s -- by which decades she was in her own fifties and sixties, hence perhaps a bit suspect as an authority on the inner (or outer) lives of teenage girls. In any event, the Romee Ann "series" appears to have been limited to just two books, this one and its immediate predecessor, which had the unsurprising title of "Romee Ann, Sophomore." Sadly, the poor girl's freshman and senior years will likely remain forever unchronicled. NOISBN. Seller Inventory # 20491
