First edition, first state in light blue cloth, with colorful paste-on still well adhered to front board. (There is NO publisher's list of titles to verso of ownership page -- that verso is blank.) NO dust jacket. The 12 color plates including the frontispiece are all firmly in place, though the frontispiece appears to have been mounted (or, possibly, RE-mounted) upside down. "Reilly & Britton" to both title page and foot of spine. Ownership inscription to Francis X. Stuckenborg from "Mother" dated June 8, 1919. (The future Dr. Frank Xavier Stuckenborg, Jr., of Toledo, Ohio, 1907-1969, would have been 12 years old on that date.)
